As for this invention, while monitoring all the invert ratios and the level of selectivity for pyrazine, starting from low temperature, it regards the extension of cycle life of the chromic acid zinc based catalyst which is used for the synthesis of the 2- methyl pyrazine with rising reaction temperature little by little. As for the said catalyst, after the cycle of the use of each one, it is possible to play back without substantially losing activity.
