PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel-like salmonella inhibitor used for chicks, effective for egg salmonella pollution measures and suitable for administering necessary doses of the salmonella inhibitor into the chicks as early as possible after the chicks are hatched, and to provide a method for inhibiting the chick salmonella with the same. SOLUTION: This gel-like salmonella inhibitor for chicks is obtained by solidifying a non-identified bacterium preparation or identified bacterium preparation prepared by the anaerobic culture of the cecal content, intestinal mucosa or excrement of an adult hen with a polysaccharide having a gelling ability in water medium. The method for inhibiting the chick salmonella comprises administering the salmonella preparation into the chick of 0-7 day stage after hatched.
