PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a system function test in optical multiplex transmission system in the state where the test result can be visually confirmed, and efficiently, safely and precisely execute the test. ;SOLUTION: The connection of a connecting optical cable E for connecting the transmission device C of an optical multiplex transmission system to a light distributing panel D to the transmission device C is attained by a light switch device 1 having ON/OFF function of light signal. Thus, the attachment and detachment of the light switch device 1 is performed in the vicinity of the transmission device C having a sufficient working space, and the light switch device 1 is situated near the transmission device C having a function of displaying a function test result, so that ON/OFF of the light signal in the light switch device 1 is surely attained by the physical interruption of the light signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
