PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy substrate for a PS (Post Script) plate, improved in the evenness of a rough surface through electrolytic etching, and the manufacturing method for the same. ;SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy substrate for PS plate is provided with a composition consisting of Fe: 0.1-0.7 wt.%, Si: 0.01-0.2 wt.%, one kind or more than two kinks of rear earth group element of 0.005-1.0 wt% and a balance consisting of Al as well as inevitable impurities. The substrate can contain Ni: 0.005-0.1 wt.% and one kind or more than two kinds of rear earth group element: 0.005-0.3 wt.% in addition to the composition. In this case, one kind or more than two kinds among Ce, La, Nd can be selected as the rear earth elements.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
