PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for pulverizing coal intended for producing high-strength metallurgical coke without lowering charge bulk density using a coal blend of at least two kinds of coal differing in the degree of influencing coke strength drop. ;SOLUTION: This method for pulverizing coal comprises the following practice: at least two kinds of coal are divided into at least two groups according to their characters, and preliminarily blended for each coal group, a granular size target value is specified for each coal group, the respective kinds of coal are pulverized so as to satisfy the corresponding target values, and then all of the kinds of coal thus pulverized are blended together, wherein the granular size target values for the respective coal groups are specified according to the coking capability of the corresponding kinds of coal; and the proportions of low-reflectance non-slightly caking coal granules each 6 mm in size and caking coal granules each 6 mm in size in the resultant coal blend are set to be ≤8 wt.% and 5-20 wt.%, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
