PURPOSE: To save the labor of adjustment to stop a food feeding equipment at a returning end. ;CONSTITUTION: A food slicer is provided with a brake 9 to brake a reciprocating food feeding equipment and a sensor 12 to be operated every time the food feeding equipment reaches before the returning end, and if a sensor 12 is operated when the operation is stopped, the brake 9 is operated to stop the food feeding equipment at the returning end. The food slicer is provided with a timer 22 to delay the operation of the brake when the operation is stopped, a setting part 27 to preset the delay time of the brake operation for the speed range where the changeable range of the reciprocating speed of the food feeding equipment is divided into a plurality of sections, a detecting part 25 to detect the reciprocating speed of the food feeding equipment when the operation is stopped, a selecting part 26 to select the delay time which is set in the speed range to which the detected reciprocating speed belongs.
