PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a moderate price type high corrosion resistant stainless steel for natural seawater use, as a material used for various equipments treating natural seawater, pipes, and structural members for estuary dam, sluice gate, or the like, and capable of substituting for conventional stainless steels. ;SOLUTION: This stainless steel has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.005-0.05% C, 0.01-1% Si, 0.1-2% Mn, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.005% S, 17-25% Cr, 15-20% Ni, 0.01-0.3% N, ≤0.005% O, further either or both of 0.5-4% V and 0.5-4% Cu, and the balance iron with inevitable impurities. It is preferable to further incorporate either or both of 0.001-0.03% Ca and 0.001-0.03% Ce into the above composition.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
