PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality recorded image sufficiently colored with a desired density, without density unevenness by consecutively feeding photosensitive heat-developable recording materials after being exposed to a heating drum, at time intervals satisfying a specific relation. ;SOLUTION: The recording material A fed into a heat developable part 18 by a pair of carrying rollers 66 is held/carried by an endless belt 70 and rollers 76 and 78, to be fed to between the heating drum 68 and the belt 70 and developed by heat by the heating drum 68, while being carried in accordance with the rotation of the heating drum 68, so that a latent image recorded by exposure becomes a visible image. In such a case, the temperature distribution of the surface of the drum 68 is reduced by feeding the recording material A to the heating drum 68 at the time intervals (t) (sec) satisfying the relation of the expression 0.6πD/vt/0.9 and 1.1πD/vt1.9, as to the timing of feeding the recording material A to the drum 68.
