PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice storage method and an ice storage apparatus, using cold sensible heat where a heat storage capacity optimum for the magnitude of an actual load can be obtained, a large load can be coped with, even when a small capacity and heat efficiency is enhanced, in the case of a small load by effecting heat storage operation which is not lower than 0C for reducing the operation cost. SOLUTION: Only when a load within a building is at a peak, will a cold- generating device 1 conduct supercooling operation for store heat in an ice storage tank 8 via a heat retransfer medium superheated. The heat storage capacity which is optimum for actual load can be obtained by radiating cold sensible heat from the ice storage tank 8, during an initial radiating time by setting an operation cooling temperature, corresponding to the magnitude of the actual load within the building. A large load can be coped with, even with respect to a small capacity by using cold sensible heat.
