PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a noble metal catalyst-supporting boron nitride withstanding a high temperature and having stable chemical properties, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.;SOLUTION: Volatile organic matter is oxidized by the noble metal catalyst supported on a boron nitride carrier. The noble metal is selected from the group consisting of transition metals such as Pt, Pd, Rh, Ru, or the like. This catalyst is manufactured by dissolving a noble metal complex compound in an organic solvent to form an organic solution of the noble metal complex compound and mixing the organic solution of the noble metal complex compound with the boron nitride carrier to form the wetted boron nitride carrier and reducing the noble metal complex compound on the wetted boron nitride carrier to the noble metal at a specific temperature by using gas.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
