PURPOSE: To obtain a phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase without being substantially inhibited by aspartic acid. ;CONSTITUTION: This phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylate is obtained by culturing Escherichia coll holding a phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylate gene having a variation capable of replacing glutamic acid at the 625th position from the N-terminal of the phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase with lysine. The resultant carboxylase is not substantially inhibited by aspartic acid. This method for producing an amino acid is to use a microorganism holding the resultant phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
