PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization device capable of continuously and accurately holding sprouting vegetable seeds at a prescribed high temperature for prescribed time and sterilizing them. ;SOLUTION: The sprouting vegetable seeds from a hot water tank 1 for washing and pre-heating are made to flow through a flow passage 5 along with hot water from a hot water tank 4 and the sprouting vegetable seeds are brought into contact with the hot water of 70-90°C for 5-20 seconds and uniformly sterilized during the time. The seeds after a sterilization processing are brought into contact with cold water from a cooling water tank 8, then separated from the cold water in a solid/liquid separator 9 and taken out to a container 10.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
