PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a word string easy to grasp contents without requiring the database of unrequired words by selecting and outputting only the word strings of fixed proportion within the ones outputted from a word string degradation device in large importance order. SOLUTION: An English input composition 101 is inputted to a word dividing device 102 and divided into the words and punctuation marks. A word string generating device 103 extracts the string of the words which begins with continuous capitals or numerals in space concerning the output of the word deviding device 102 and outputs it. A word string importance degree calculating device 104 calculates the importance degree of the word string of the English input composition 101 concerning the output of the word string generating device 103, adds it to the word string and outputs it. A word string degradation device 105 degradates the word string added to another word string concerning the output of the word string importance degree calculating device 104. A word string selecting device 106 selects only fixed proportion within the word strings in large importance order and outputs it as a summarized result 107.
