PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a software reliability estimating method which accurately estimates the parameter of a software reliability growth model at a stage where the number of bug detection events is a small number and just after a test is started and accurately estimates software reliability and to provide its device.;SOLUTION: A storage device 5 stores bug occurrence date and time when bugs occur in software when the software inputted from an input device 4 is tested and the number of bug occurrence events, a bug number accumulating part 6 performs accumulation, a regression analyzing part 7 has an exact solution, uses a coinciding difference equation together with the software reliability growth model, an equation and the exact solution at the limit of a difference interval zero and estimates the parameter for the software reliability growth model by regression analysis from the bug occurrence date and hour when the software is tested and the input data of the number of the bug occurrences.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
