PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dipping water concentrating method in a dipping type membrane filter and a device therefor in which situations where an upflow of air diffuses and takes away descending sludge and settled sludge so as to roll up them when air is jetted from below a membrane module to perform physical washing are prevented from arising to effectively separate dipping water and sludge. ;SOLUTION: In a dipping type membrane filter device having a tank filter 1, a membrane module 5 for filtering raw water 3 supplied to the tank filter 1, and a diffusing pipe 9 for air supply installed below the membrane module 5, inside the tank filter 1, a separation tank 2 for dividing the tank filter 1 into two inner and outer layers is installed, and dipping water concentrated by an upflow of air is made to overflow an upper end part 2c of the separation tank 2 to cause the concentrated water and the sludge to flow to between the tank filter 1 and the separation tank 2, allowing the dipping water and the sludge to be separated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
