PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake mechanism for a wire reel in a reinforcing bar binding device to brake the rotation of the wire reel almost directly after the termination of wire feeding. ;SOLUTION: A brake means 13 which can engage with a wire reel 2 is arranged in the vicinity of the wire reel 2. The brake means 13 is made to be activated by a solenoid 15. After a wire is fed from the wire reel 2 by the prescribed length, the brake means 13 is operated to engage with the rim of the wire reel 2 by the solenoid 15 to stop the rotation of the wire reel 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
