PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize accurate loss calculation in a simple procedure by dividing a metal cable component into a parallel two-line part and a branch path part where a bridge tap exists, finding four-terminal parameter by recurrent calculation in the branch path part, and synthesizing with the four-terminal parameter in the parallel two-line part.;SOLUTION: A bridge tap part is considered as one four-terminal circuit, a main cable is considered as a cascade connection circuit of two parallel two- line parts and one branch path part, and loss can be calculated by considering the main cable the synthesis of the four-terminal circuit. At first, four-terminal constant of the branch part is found. Since the branch part is the same circuit as the parallel two-line part, a technique same as the parallel two lines can be applied. After the four terminal constant is found same as the parallel two lines, the conversion of the four terminal constant is conducted by returning to the branch circuit. Finally, four terminal coefficient of the main cable is found from a matrix obtained by synthesizing three matrices, and loss is found.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
