A peroxisome-associated polypeptide and a nucleotide sequence encoding the peroxisome-associated polypeptide are disclosed. The protein is useful in the diagnosis and/or treatment of several diseases, particularly lung injuries and diseases as well as oxidative stress-related disorders, particularly neurotoxic injury or exitotoxic injury.
