Ventilation duct air disinfecting procedure consists of installing ultraviolet lamps at intervals and cleaning biannually with chemical solution vapor

The procedure consists of installing 55W ultraviolet lamps at intervals through holes made in the air duct, with two lamps in each 1500 mm section after a fire-break shutter. The holes are covered with self-adhesive foam seals and metal plates held in place by rivets or selftapping screws, and the lamps are connected up to a panel with a timer. From time to time, e.g. twice a year, the duct is cleaned with a low-pressure vaporized solution of H2O2-H3PO4-AgNO3, which leaves only water and oxygen in the air after use.
