"ERYTHROMYCIN DERIVATIVES SUBSTITUTED IN 6-O HAVING GASTROINTESTINAL TOLERANCE". Compounds having formula (I) are useful for treating bacterial infections while avoiding the concomitant risk of gastrointestinal intolerance. Compositions containing the compounds and methods of treatment using the compounds are also disclosed.
