The present invention relates to the process of biological wastewater treatment, using as a support material the economically and ecologically correct shredded disposable tire, applied in the most diverse types of reactors (Expanded Bed Anachron, Fluidized Bed Aerobic, Activated Sludge, among others) used for the development of microorganisms that perform the decomposition of the affluent substrate, and the main function of the invention, among others, is to provide greater retention of active biomass in the reactor bed, optimizing the treatment process and supporting large applied organic loads, with short hydraulic holding times and low pressure drop in the medium.
