The present invention relates to an automobile lock having a ratchet wheel (5) and a pawl (4), which are sprung in opposite direction to each another. In locked position, said ratchet wheel (5), being locked by the pawl (4) secures through its arm an entrance pin (6). A toothed wheel (3) engaging with a pinion (2) mounted on an electric motor (1) shaft, is assigned to said pawl (4). The toothed wheel (3) is provided with a control cam (31) being in engagement with the pawl (4) arm (41). The toothed wheel (3) has a projection (32), which serves as a bearing surface for the ratchet wheel (5) arm (51) when power supply in the electric motor (1) is interrupted at an instant at which the control cam (31) retains the pawl (4) in the ratchet wheel (5) releasing position. Due to the ratchet wheel (5) spring-loading, said ratchet (5) arm (51) rotates the toothed wheel (3) into a position in which the control cam (31) releases the pawl (4). Due to its spring loading, said pawl (4) returns into contact with the ratchet wheel (5) setting it to a position corresponding to a released lock. In the end region of the pawl (4) arm (41), there is arranged a pin (42), which reaches in the toothed wheel (3) projection (32) path when the pawl (4) is in the ratchet wheel (5) released position.
