A stationary buffer bin (4) positioned between a feed belt (3) and a filling location where an empty container (1) is positioned, receives predetermined quantity of a product from the belt. The belt supplies the product into the bin from top side of the bin. The bin has a closable outflow opening through which the container placed under the bin, is filled with the product. - An independent claim is also included for method of filling container used for storage and/or transport with product.
