Baffle for assisting the upstream passage of aquatic fauna

A baffle provided to assist the upstream passage of aquatic fauna along the water flow through a channel includes an upstream face having a leading end and a following end connected by a curved profile. The lowest point of the profile is located towards the leading end and the highest point of the profile is located towards the following end. The baffle also includes a downstream face having a substantially vertical profile wherein, the baffle is placed in the channel with the upstream face positioned facing the dominant direction of the water flow to create regions of slow water flow inside the channel.
