The present invention relates to a process for preparing Z-10-dodecen-1-yl acetate, which consists in reacting the 1,10-decandiol with hydrogen bromide, in toluen, in a molar ratio of 1/1.2 at 90 C in atmospheric pressure, then the resulting protected 10-brom-decan-1-ol is coupled with acetylene treated with soda at a temperature ranging from 20 to 30 C in inert atmosphere, then the resulting 11-dodecin-1-ol t-butyl ether is subjected successively to isomerization of the triple terminal bond, acetylation and stereospecific reduction, in the presence of Ni-P2 catalyst, at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, there resulting the Z-10-dodecen-1-yl.
