Reinforcing glass fibres are disclosed, the composition of which comprises the following constituents within the limits defined below, expressed in percentages by weight: SiO2 58 to 62 %; Al2O3 10 to 16 %; CaO more than 18 %; MgO more than 1.5 %; CaO + MgO less than 28 %; Na2O + K2O + Li2O less than 2 %; TiO2 less than 1.5 %; Fe2O3 less than 0.5 %; B2O3 less than 2 %; F2 less than 2 %; this composition furthermore comprises less than 1 % of other constituents and comprises more than 0.5 % of at least one of the three components F2, B2O3 and LiO2. A composite of these glass fibres is also disclosed. At production of the glass fibres, a plurality of molten glass threads are drawn, running from a plurality of apertures disposed at the base of one or more dies, in the form of one or more webs of continuous filaments, and the filaments are then re-assembled into one or more threads which are collected on a moving support.
