Described is the use of an antibody molecule which binds to the amino acid sequence WFGNRWHEGYR, for the preparation of a medicament for the treating epithelioma which is based on the binding of an antibody molecule to an epitope which is coded by the variable exon v6 of the gene CD44. In a preferred embodiment, v6-specific antibody molecule, in particular the monoclonal antibody BIWA-1 (VFF-18), is used in mentioned method.
