Formwork method for reinforced concrete columns, by placing tubular shell with plastic lining over metal frame and securing shuttering plates to shell
A tubular shell (3) with a plastic lining is placed over a metal frame (1) and then metal shuttering plates (4) are secured to the outside of the shell. A formwork method for forming reinforced concrete prismatic columns comprises the following steps: (a) placing a metal frame with a shape similar to that of the column to be formed on top of a foundation or slab; (b) placing a tubular shell with the same shape and size of the column to be formed over the frame, the shell preferably comprising a composite material based on polymers and plant fibres, as well as having a plastic inner surface; and (c) securing metal shuttering plates to the outside of the shell. An independent claim is also included for the formwork device, comprising a tubular shell with a rectangular cross-section, the walls of which comprise a composite material based on polymers and plant fibres and are sufficiently thick to compensate for any deformation in the metal plates, the inside of the shell being provided with a plastic lining acting as a barrier to moisture in the concrete, this lining being protected by an adhesive sheet.
