摘要

A new method for the erection of double curved shells is presented. The construction procedure was developed by using a flat plate made of reinforced concrete and a soft polystyrene component between segments which enables the plate to be deformed into a double curved shell with post-tensioning. A reinforced concrete dome with a span of about 13 m and a height of 2.16 m was successfully constructed in July 2006. This experiment proved that this construction method can be used in practice. Further experiments on reinforced ice shells with 13 m diameter will be conducted in December 2005 in Obergurgl (Tyrol, Austria).
