The present invention relates to a method and a device for grinding buttons ofa rock drilling bit, said device including a grinding head (10), a rotatable grindingspindle (56) protruding from the grinding head (10), the free end of the grindingspindle (56) being adapted to drivingly and detachably carry a grinding cup (82). Inprior art devices the supply of flushing medium to the button to be ground is effectedvia the grinding head (10). This complicates the design of the grinding head. Thecharacterizing feature of the present invention is that the flushing medium is suppliedto the portion of the grinding spindle (56) that is located outside the grinding head(10).
