The present invention relates to a method of controlling erosion and creatinga growth medium capable of supporting plant life. Themethod comprises the steps of analyzing a site, determining the amount andtype of a mulch to be applied to the site, determining thedesired conditions of the site and the length of time for placing animals onthe site and applying mulch and animals to the site to produceconditions suitable for generation of the growth medium. The present inventionfurther relates to an automated site reclamation controlsystem which utilizes a control system processor to control the amount of feedand water supplied to the feed and water troughs, as wellas the location of the troughs thus controlling the location and movement ofthe animals on the reclamation site thereby optimizing thecreation of the growth medium.
