A packaging system and method of packaging for a foldable wallet or billfoldto enablethe wallet or billfold to be opened and examined while deterring the wallet orbillfold from beingremoved from the packaging system. The wallet or billfold has a fold lineabout which the walletor billfold is arranged to be folded shut, and an opening in a portion of thewallet or billfoldcontiguous with the fold line. The packaging system comprising a box and astrip, e.g., band,member. The strip member is an elongated flexible member formed of a tearresistant material,e.g., a flat strip of plastic. The box has a base portion with peripheral sidewalls forming ahollow interior into which the wallet or billfold is disposed. The stripmember is arranged to beextended through the opening in the wallet and overlying the fold line whilebeing permanentlysecured to at least one of said sidewalk of the base portion. Thus, the walletis not susceptibleto removal without destroying the package. A lid is provided to cover the box.A flanged insertmember may also be provided in the interior of the box to serve as a means forcarrying visibleindicia, e.g., the model designation of the wallet or billfold, a trademark,pricing information, etc.
