The present invention relates to a bi-directionalDC-DC converter and a DC-DC converter. Moreparticularly, the present invention relates to a DC-DCconverter used in a DC power source circuit forconverting a power source voltage of a DC power sourceinto a different DC voltage. Two sets of convertercircuit portions include two pairs of switchingelements Q1 to Q4, and two pairs of switching elementsQ5 to Q8 connected in full bridge configuration.Series capacitors C1 and C2 are connected between theconverter circuit portions and transformers Tr1 andTr2 respectively. The switching phase of oneswitching element Q4 or Q8 is shifted by a 1/3n periodfrom the switching phase of the other switchingelement Q1 or Q5 in the pair of switching elements.The switching phases of corresponding switchingelements Q1 and Q5 in the converter circuit portionsare shifted by a 1/2n period from each other.
