The invention relates to the oil production industry and is used for increasing oilfield recovery rates and oil production of new and depleted oil formations. Said invention can be also used for the gas production sector. The aim of the invention is to increase the oil production and oilfield recovery rates by using earth tidal stretches and contractions resulting from solar/lunar effects produced on the earth. The inventive method for increasing oilfield recovery rates and oil production consists in effecting periodical external physical actions on an oil-containing formation according to solar/lunar effects produced on the earth shell, wherein said physical actions are carried out in the oil-containing formation area during solar/lunar tides taking into account the totality of amplitudes of the solar/lunar effects. Said invention is characterised in that the external actions are effected by vibration and/or by liquid injection. Any magnetic, ultrasound, etc effects can be used in the form of external actions.
