This invention relates to a lighting system of series-wound cold cathode startup and triac dimmer gas discharge lamp, and this system comprises voltage modulation full wave voltage rectifier electrical source, full wave rectifier electrical source series-wound handled gas discharge lamp and inductance resistance triac dimmer switch etc with the character of: series-wound utilizing many lamps, cold cathode startup; combining the half-wave voltage electrical source of positive semirevolution and negative semirevolution using isolation diode to form full wave rectifier electrical source; combining the low pressure heavy current source of full wave rectifier and high voltage source of full wave voltage using electric potential switch diode to form primary power supply of said lighting system; combining full wave voltage source and full wave rectifier electrical source to form primary power supply of high voltage, large internal resistance and large power supply, providing electricity to many lamps through series-wound inductance and triac dimmer switch. Said system has the virtue of series-wound utilizing, cold cathode startup, triac dimmer, many group lamps drived by a group power supply, economize on energy and low on price, at the same time, reducing the waste of discharge lamp, decreasing the pollution of Hg in abandonable lamp to surrounding.
