A technique for generating a basic element for numerical analysis by grid-dividing a numerical analysis object comprising components. The grid division method comprises a setting step (S13) of setting an allowable range of the aspect ratio of the basic element for numerical analysis of each component during data conversion, a cube division step (S14) of dividing each component into cubes in the allowable range of the aspect ratio to create a cube division model during the data conversion, and a grid division step (S22) of grid-dividing each component according to the cube division model and generating a basic element for numerical analysis.
