Procedure for determining the invasive and metastatic capacity of an epithelial tumor using Snail. The procedure involves determining the presence of a prognostic marker, Snail, in the biological sample obtained from the tumor, and comparing the presence of this prognostic marker with its absence in a control sample, and wherein said presence it is indicative of invasive and metastatic capacity of this epithelial tumor.
