The invention relates to a system and method for controlling the operational sequence in network applications which, during a user session (130), detects data transmissions between the client (110) and a server (140). An operational sequence control data detection filter detects each request by the client (110) and each response to each request through the server (140). An operational sequence control encryption module (1410) encrypts the detected requests and the detected responses using an encryption key, and stores them in an operational sequence control memory (160). In addition, the operational sequence encryption module (1410) outputs parts of the encryption key to the client (110) and to the server (140). An operational sequence control decryption module (1520) detects the parts of the encryption key from the client (110) and from the server (140) and decrypts the encrypted requests and the encrypted responses. An operational sequence control analyzing device can then use the decrypted requests and the decrypted responses to recreate the user session (130) in order to analyze what occurred during the user session (130). In addition, the operational sequence control analyzing device can also verify that a certain result has occurred during the user session (130).
