The invention concerns an electric household appliance for food processing comprising a working bowl (4), a closure element (3) removable from the working bowl, a housing (1), arranged above the working bowl, housing a motor designed to drive in rotation a tool arranged in the working bowl, the motor being associated with control means (8) comprising a switch and a first sensing member (9) designed to co-operate with the closure element, fitted in the housing, and a second sensing member (10) designed to co-operate with the working bowl. The invention is characterised in that the second sensing member (10) is fitted in the housing (1), the first sensing member (9) and the second sensing member (10) being mobile relative to the switch.
