The product is characterised in that an electrical insulation layer (4) is arranged between the cast mass and the surface section of the component, comprising an electrical insulation material. The component is in particular a power semiconductor component. The cast mass is in particular a silicone gel. The insulation film is particularly formed by a laminated insulation film. The insulation layer functions as diffusion barrier, so that liquid and/or gaseous components or impurities in the component can not diffuse into the silicone gel and lead to the generation therein, with changing pressure and/or temperature conditions, of bubbles and cracks.
