Use of ecdysteroids for teh preparation of cosmetic or dermatologic compositions for avoiding the hair loss

The use of ecdysteroid(s) or their analogs or derivatives (I) is claimed in the production of a cosmetic or dermatological composition (A) for preventing hair loss. An independent claim is included for a cosmetic treatment method for preventing hair loss, involving application of a composition containing (I) to the scalp. ACTIVITY : Antialopecia. MECHANISM OF ACTION : Hair follicle survival promoter. In tests in an in vitro model for evaluating the effects of test compounds on the survival and lengthening of human hair follicles as described in , ecdysterone (Ia) at concentrations of 0.01 mu g/ml, 0.1 mu g/ml and 10 mu g/ml significantly promoted survival.
