PURPOSE: A device for increasing starting performance of a vehicle on a slope way is provided to facilitate starting on a slope way of high gradient or starting in case of overload via the torque increase action of a torque converter. CONSTITUTION: In a device for increasing starting performance of a vehicle on a slope way, power is transmitted from a transmission output shaft(12) to a propeller shaft(16) through a torque increase unit(14). The torque increase unit includes a torque converter(22) connected to the transmission output shaft, and a sleeve(24). The torque converter has an impeller output shaft(18) and a turbine output shaft(20). The sleeve connects the impeller output shaft and the propeller shaft in normal and connects the turbine output shaft and the propeller shaft to increase torque.
