REPORT on Torque and Power Measurements on the Propeller Shafts of the U. S. S. DAHLGREN

Simultaneous measurements of the torsional characteristics of each propeller shaft were made at various settings of the propeller pitch for different steam flow rates during the standardization runs. In addition, measurements of instantaneous values of torque and R.P.M. were recorded during special maneuvering trials of the vessel. All of the runs were made over the course at Rockland, Maine, During the days of October 20-22, 1941 inclusive.
