PURPOSE: A circuit of compensating for color monitor brightness for an image diagnostic apparatus and a method thereof are provided to sense a changed cathode voltage by storing the cathode voltage during an initial operation, and to maintain the cathode voltage during the initial operation, thereby preventing brightness deterioration. CONSTITUTION: A bias of a cathode(1) is controlled by diodes(2) and transistors(3,3'). Plural amplifiers(4) are connected to the cathode(1). An A/D converter(5) is connected with outputs of the amplifiers(4). A microprocessor(8) comprises a memory(7) connected with the A/D converter(5). An output of a D/A converter(6) is connected to an output of the microprocessor(8), and an output thereof is connected to a base of the electric transistor(3).
