PURPOSE: A method for measuring an amount of received data while using a wireless data service in a wireless communication terminal is provided to measure an amount of substantial application data from a received RLP(Radio Link Protocol) packet, and to output a total amount of currently received data. CONSTITUTION: A wireless communication terminal sets a measurement unit time according to a data receiving request, and initializes variables(301). The terminal receives an RLP packet(302), and confirms whether the received RLP packet is valid(303). If so, the terminal stores the received RLP packet in a receiving buffer according to a sequence number, calculates an amount of application data from the RLP packet, and accumulates the calculated amount of the data in accumulated receiving data(305). The terminal confirms whether the measurement unit time expires(306). If so, the terminal outputs the accumulated receiving data as a total amount of currently received data(307). If the data is completely received, the terminal completes the procedure.
