摘要

PURPOSE: A room temperature oxidation catalyst for a fuel cell and its preparation method are provided, to improve the yield of carbon dioxide by complete oxidation of methanol at a room temperature and to prevent the inactivation of a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The room temperature oxidation catalyst is prepared by preparing a catalyst which is a platinum-group metal supported in -alumina or -alumina with a refractory inorganic compound; decreasing the temperature; and blowing a solvent together with a gas component with increasing the temperature to modify the surface of the catalyst by the structural change of the catalyst. The platinum-group metal is a mixture of at least one metal of palladium and platinum and at least one metal of iridium and ruthenium in the ratio of 1:2 to 20:1 by weight. Preferably the temperature is decreased below 100 deg.C and is increased to 300-600 deg.C.
