PURPOSE: A battery charger is provided to reduce charging time and prevent damages on battery by automatically and accurately searching the charging terminal of a battery regardless of the size of the battery. CONSTITUTION: A battery charger comprises a battery mounting unit for mounting of a battery(62); a plurality of charger pins(61) for providing contact with the battery introduced in the main body of the battery charger; a driver motor for controlling position of the battery mounting unit and the charger pins; a charger circuit unit(56) for searching charging data of the battery and performing charging operation through the charger pins contacting the battery; and a control unit(51) having a plurality of terminals for controlling charging of the battery by searching the position of the metal terminal of the battery through the control of contact of the battery and charger pins and sequentially searching the anode terminal and cathode terminal from the metal terminal of the battery contacting the charger pins through the charger circuit unit.
