A study has been done on a design and test of utilization of flexible a-Si solar cells for charging a battery used in a mobile telephone. It was found that the flexible a-Si solar cells match very well with this application. The unique advantages of flexibility, foldability and non-fragile of a-Si solar cells suggest a potential of a big market of a-Si solar cells in this field. It is expected that a battery charger set consisting of a-Si flexible solar cells and rechargeable batteries will be popular for the use with personnel mobile telephones in the near future.
