PURPOSE: An apparatus for adjusting flatness of an optical pickup and a method thereof are provided to measure and adjust flatness of an optical pickup on the basis of a turntable by a simple work of irradiating parallel measurement light, thereby reducing working hours and improving the reliability of work. CONSTITUTION: An optical irradiation part(3) is installed at an upper part of a main body(2), and has an optical irradiation module(31) irradiating measurement light and a camera(32) obtaining detecting light. A base(4) is placed at a lower part of the main body, and on which a plurality of plates(41) are installed. A fixing jig(5) is installed on the base, and at which a deck(8) having an optical pickup and a turntable(81) to be examined is fixed. A driving module(51) is installed at the fixing jig for rotating the turntable. A reflecting plate is secured on the top side of the turntable for reflecting the measurement light irradiated from the optical irradiation module. A reflecting jig is secured at a guide shaft of the optical pickup in a vertical direction, having a reflecting mirror reflecting the measurement light irradiated from the optical irradiation module. A display unit(6) receives the detecting light from the camera for displaying an image of the detecting light on a screen. A control box(7) controls driving of a lamp and the camera.
