IMAGE CODING/DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE USING IMAGE RESIDUE PREDICTION, PARTICULARLY CONCERNED WITH LARGELY REDUCING AN AMOUNT OF DATA BY CODING AND DECODING A PREDICTED RESIDUE WITH THE USE OF CORRELATION BETWEEN IMAGE COMPONENTS AND RESIDUES OF THE IMAGE COMPONENTS
PURPOSE: An image coding/decoding method and a device using an image residue prediction are provided to code and decode a predicted residue by using correlation between image components and residues of the image components, thereby largely reducing an amount of data and obtaining high-quality image information without image quality loss. CONSTITUTION: A predicted residue generator(135) generates differences between values converted in a residue converter(165) and residues of components generated from a residue generator(110). A residue compensator generates predicted residues of components generated from a reverse compressive decoding unit(40), and generates residues of components restored by adding converted values of a linear converter. An original image generator(175) adds predicted images generated from a motion predicted image generator(10) to the residues of the reside compensator and the residues of the components generated from the reverse compressive decoding unit(40) in an inter mode, and adds predicted images generated from a spatial predicted image generator(20) in an intra mode in order to generate original images.
